The school’s medicine policy states that no member of staff is permitted to administer medicines to children. If it is essential for a child to receive medication during the school day, then that child must be kept at home or arrangements made for a parent to come into school.

If parents are happy for children to self-administer asthma inhalers, then this is perfectly acceptable. Children with severe allergies who need medication such as an Epi-Pen should contact the school office, as a form should be filled in and GP notified. Please ensure that all medication kept in school, including inhalers are in date.  We are not permitted to allow children to have out of date medication.
