St John’s Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA)
St John’s Parents, Teachers and Friends Association – or PTFA – exists to advance the education of the pupils of the school. The key function of the PTFA is to arrange fundraising activities for everyone involved with the school. These raise money for projects, pay for the school minibus and fund ‘extras’ for the school. All money raised is used to benefit every child in the school and is greatly appreciated. Whatever the event, the idea is for everyone to have a good time. Over the past year, we have raised over £10,000 which has been used to purchase new ipads for the children to use in school.
Recent events have included:
- School Movie Nights
- Mother’s day stall
- Christmas party
- Father’s day stall
- School disco
- Children’s Personalised Christmas Cards
- Bake Sale
The highlight of the year is the school summer fete. The evening is filled with a variety of food stalls representing the wide range of nationalities that we have at school. There are displays put on by the children ranging from singing through to dance routines providing great entertainment.
We are always looking for people to get involved in helping out with events; if you would like to get involved, then please speak to the school office, email email@example.com or get in touch through St. John’s RC school facebook page.
Another fund-raising initiative is our 200 Club which not only provides much needed funds for the school, but enables members to be entered into a monthly draw for a chance to win money.
If anyone hasn’t joined the 200 club but would like to, then this is a great time of year to join as the new 2017/18 Club Lottery starts from August – it’s very easy to do – just £4 per month – please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for a form and discuss payment method.
