Our School Council is about involving the children from each year group from Year 1 to 6, in the life of St John’s. Our school has several hundred pupils and listening to all their views is easier said than done. The School Council helps this communication and enables the children to take responsibility for aspects of school life, from fund raising to improving the school environment both inside and out!

Each class has two School Council representatives who are elected by their peers to represent their class’s views and ideas. The School Council meet each week and discuss any issues and plans.  The main points are then fed back to the staff and other relevant people through the Senior Management Team and staff meetings. The children are very proud to be members of St John’s School Council and can see their views and ideas are acted upon to improve all aspects of school life.
